Benedict Holding Group Modern Slavery Statement

Introduction from Alexander Cruickshanks, Director, Benedict Holding Group

At Benedict Holding Group, our purpose is simple: to connect strategy with talent. We are therefore fully committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business and supply chain.

Our Employee and Supplier Codes of Conduct make clear that we expect everyone working with us whether directly or via suppliers to be treated with respect and dignity at work. Employment must always be chosen freely. There must be no forced, bonded, or involuntary labour. No one should be required to lodge money or identity papers to be able to work, and all employees must be free to leave employment after giving reasonable notice.

We are publishing this statement to explain the actions we have taken to mitigate modern slavery within our supply chain, and the steps we intend to take over the coming year.

Company Structure

Benedict Holding Group is a UK-based recruitment and staffing business, specialising in professional services, healthcare, education, technology and public-sector appointments. Our team delivers both permanent and temporary recruitment solutions across the UK.

Supply Chain

As a recruitment business, our supply chain is relatively straightforward compared to other industries. We primarily source services in IT, marketing, professional services, property and facilities, and training. This close supplier base gives us good visibility and the ability to maintain strong standards.

Risk and Compliance

We have assessed the nature and extent of our exposure to the risk of modern slavery. Recruitment carries risks where supply chains are complex and where labour can be exploited. We believe our direct operations are low-risk, but remain vigilant.

Our risk focus areas are:

  • Suppliers in high-risk sectors (e.g. facilities, cleaning, IT hardware, couriers).
  • Overseas supply chains for goods such as electronics, textiles, or consumables.

To mitigate these risks we:

  • Require suppliers to demonstrate compliance with modern slavery legislation.
  • Prefer suppliers with recognized accreditations (e.g. ISO standards, EcoVadis ratings).
  • Review suppliers annually and carry out due diligence checks.

Policies

Our Employee Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct commit us to:

  • Acting ethically and with integrity.
  • Ensuring slavery and trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business.
  • Providing safe channels (including whistleblowing procedures) to report concerns.

Due Diligence Processes

Our Business

  • We use robust recruitment processes, including right-to-work and reference checks.
  • Temporary staff are engaged under compliant contracts, are paid directly into their own accounts, and are free to leave assignments with appropriate notice.
  • Staff and candidates are made aware of their rights and our zero-tolerance approach.

Our Supply Chain

  • All new suppliers must confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act.
  • Contracts include obligations to prevent modern slavery and, where appropriate, audit rights.
  • Procurement and compliance staff receive ongoing training to identify risks.

Future Steps

In the next financial year, we will:

  • Expand training for staff on identifying and reporting risks.
  • Strengthen supplier onboarding with additional due diligence questions.
  • Encourage suppliers to gain recognised sustainability accreditations.
  • Review the effectiveness of our processes annually and report to the Board.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Benedict Holding Group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2025. It was approved by the Board on July 2025.
